Free-Reduced Meal Information
The federal government has announced that it will not extend the school meal waiver program that has provided free meals to all students for the past two years. This means that families who qualify for free or reduced meals must complete the appropriate application at enrollment to receive that benefit.
This paperwork not only helps qualifying families, but it also has a direct impact on the funding for the school district. This past year many families decided not to complete this paperwork since the meals were already free. Consequently, the district lost over $200K in funding from state and federal aid. To say this paperwork is important to both our families and our district is an understatement.
The application is available in the parent portal and in the offices in paper format. Please consider completing the application whether you think you may qualify or not. Income guidelines for reduced pricing qualify many who may think they may not be eligible and help the school receive the state and federal aid.
