Riverside MS had great weather for their league track meet last Thursday at Pleasant Ridge MS/HS. Fifty-one athletes participated in the lengthy competition against he other ten schools. Our kids put their best foot forward with several getting personal records, and some finishing in the top 6 of their events. Jada Duncan came out on top in the 7th-grade shot put. Zayden Euler won the 8th-grade boys' long jump. Kaleb Livingston knocked a few seconds off his 800m run record to 2:19. The 8th grade boys' Medley team of Zayden Euler, Kyle Simpson, Bryson Smith, and Livingston lowered their record to 1:49. Our seventh grade boys had several champs, along with being their division’s league champions. Brooks Griffin won the high jump and 100m hurdles. Jude Gaither earned first in the 3200m run. Charles Hewins continued his successful seventh-grade season as he finished first place in all four of his events: long jump, 100m, 400m (school record), and 200m. Pleasant Ridge denied our boys’ efforts to gain another overall league title, but we’re still very proud of their accomplishments this year. The coaches enjoyed working with all of our athletes this season and hope that each one of them continues to push themselves to get better throughout the summer workouts.
