The Cyclones faced the Silver Lake Eagles in the 3A regional championship on Tuesday, May 19th.
A single put Silver Lake on the board in the top of the second.
The Cyclones took the lead in the bottom of the third with a score of 2-1.
The Eagles tied the game in the top of the fourth, 2-2.
Silver Lake flipped the game on its head in the top of the eighth inning, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 7-2.
Kobe Koehler stepped on the hill first for Riverside . He gave up seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Number nine hitter, Ace Wisler, showed the depth of Riverside’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats.
The final score was 2-7, Silver Lake. The Cyclones ended their season with a 17-6 record, Northeast Kansas League Champions, and regional runner-up.
