The Riverside Middle School 7th grade A team is on a 3 game win streak, with an overall record of 7-2. Facing Jeff West at home on Monday, November 7th, the Cyclones cruised to an easy 35-22 victory. Leading the way for the girls was Kennedy Griffin 26, Tori Ortega 5 and Maycee Meers 4. On Thursday, November 10th, the Cyclones hosted the Wildcats of Holton. This game was a bit closer, 35-31, but the Cyclones still pulled through with the victory. Scoring that night Kennedy Griffin 21, Tori Ortega 7, Maycee Meers 3, Rachel Cera and Hadleigh Meers each with 2. On Monday, November 14th, the girls were on the road to Sabetha. It was another victory for the girls, beating the Blue Jays 32-19. Kennedy Griffin led the team with 19, Tori Ortega 6, Maycee Meers 5 and Rachel Cera 2. In the 8th grade action, the girls competed in all 3 games but have been unable to secure a win. The girls have shown tremendous improvement on the year, especially the 2 returning 8th graders; Bentlee Miller and Brookyln Poirier. In the “B” action, the girls went 1-3 in the last 3 games. Losing 6-18 to Jeff West, the Cyclones struggled with scoring. Brooklyn Poirier, Kenlee Kiefer and Bella DeRosa each had 2 points that night. During the Holton game the girls lost a close one 17-18, with them scoring a bucket in the last 5 seconds of the game. Kenlee Kiefer 14, Hadleigh Meers 2 and Kamryn Coleman 1. Finishing off Monday night the girls won 25-16. Kenlee Kiefer with 13, Hadleigh Meers added 6, and Georgia Throckmorton, Sunni Smith-Miller and Aurora Gray all added 2. The girls will host Royal Valley on Thursday, November 17th. Games will start at 4:30PM in the Main gym on the East Campus. Please come support your Riverside Cyclones!

Riverside SADD members attended the Kansas Teen Traffic Safety Tuesday and Wednesday to learn more about safe and unimpaired driving. SADD put on this conference to help bring awareness back to our schools and communities to try to change bad habits.
