
State Qualifier!!! Congratulations Bayleigh Cooper!! Bayleigh is Riverside’s first state qualifier for the girls team in school history.

Riverside USD 114 will not have school tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12th. No evening activities or practices including the Board of Education meeting. The Board of Education meeting will be rescheduled for Thursday, February 13th starting at 6:00 pm.


The NEKL Middle School Boys Basketball Tournament Bracket has been released. Riverside has the number one seed and will host the winner of the 8/9 game at 7:00 pm on Monday, February 17th. Good luck, Cyclones! Keep up with the tournament

The Riverside High School forensics team took 1st place at the Nemaha Central tournament on February 1st. Fourteen schools were in attendance.
Finals award recipients included two tournament champs: Zoey Jones with 1st place in Humorous Solo Acting and partners Kelsey Stroud and Trevin Russell with 1st place in Duet Acting. This was the duet team’s first state qualification. Jones previously qualified for the state championship with 2nd in Humorous Solo in Sabetha.
Nicholas Watson placed 3rd in Serious Solo Acting, earning his first qualification for state festival. Elizabeth Smith completed a repeat performance from last weekend, placing 2nd in Serious Solo and improving to 3rd place in Humorous Solo.
Other improvements included Duet Acting team, Mylee Gay and Adam Evans with 3rd place in Duet and Kelsey Stroud with 3rd in Program of Oral Interpretation. Both entries were just shy of state qualification.
All competitors contributed to the team’s overall sweepstakes points and received positive comments from preliminary round judges.
RHS Places 2nd at Forensics season opener
The Riverside High school Forensics team traveled to Sabetha for the first tournament of the season on January 25.
The team of 15 students placed second overall in sweepstakes points, with 11 entries breaking into finals.
Qualifying for state were Clover Frakes with second place in prose interpretation, Elizabeth Smith with second place in serious solo acting, Zoey Jones with second place in humorous solo acting, and Clover Frakes and Dylan Brooke with second place in improvised duet acting.
Also placing in finals:
Kelsey Stroud With sixth place in program of oral interpretation, Kelsey Stroud and Trevin Russell With fourth place in duet, Mylee Gay and Adam Evans with fifth place in duet, Dylan Brooke and Nicholas Watson with sixth place in duet, Elizabeth Smith with third place in humorous solo acting, Dylan Brooke with sixth place in original ration, and Kahmelah White with fifth place in informative speaking.
Riverside forensics will host its home tournament on Saturday, March 29th.
