The RHS Booster Club invites all parents of seniors being recognized on Senior Night, October 17, to create and bring a senior memory board to display in the cafeteria that evening. Senior Night will honor members of football, cross country, cheer, dance, volleyball, and band. Memory boards are a wonderful way to celebrate your senior’s accomplishments and memories! Please remember to take your board home after the game. For any questions, contact Aubrey Griffin or Amanda Davis.

Riverside's 2nd graders have been learning how to combine two words to make a contraction. Recently they became "surgeons" to put what they have learned into practice. After sanitizing their hands, donning medical gloves and masks, they used scalpels (scissors) and sutures (glue sticks) to assist Dr. Apostrophe with his patients. As surgeons they had to remove unneeded letters and add apostrophes to create contractions.

Riverside Varsity Cyclones went 2-1 in pool play, dominating with some flat-out phenomenal volleyball. They took down the St. Joe Christian Lions and NEKS Nighthawks, and battled Doniphan West to three intense sets. In the end, a three-way tie and some KSHSAA rulebook technicalities kept them out of bracket play — a brutal way to end a day they absolutely earned the right to keep playing.

Riverside elementary was honored to host the Body Venture exhibit today!
The Body Venture exhibit is a traveling, interactive, in-school program run by the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) that educates students (K-5th grade) on healthy eating and physical activity by exploring the journey of food through the human body at large-scale, inflatable stations. Students receive food cards based on the MyPlate system and follow them through 11 stations, learning about organs like the brain, stomach, intestines, heart, lungs, and bones, as well as the role of skin and the spread of germs. The goal is for children to understand the importance of choosing nutritious foods and staying active to keep their bodies healthy and functioning properly.
Big thank you to: our administration for proving this opportunity for our students, middle school football coaches and players for assisting with set-up, and our high school students who volunteered their time today to run these stations. We hope the kids had fun and took away some tips to help keep them Cyclone Strong!Riverside elementary was honored to host the Body Venture exhibit today!
